WHY I AM NOT A PROGRESSIVE (LIBERAL) CHRISTIAN

This has been on my mind for quite a while and I have not addressed it because I do not like hurting peoples feelings but more and more heretical thinking is polluting the Christian faith and the worst part about it, it's coming from within Christianity from the so-called Progressive (Liberal) Christian.

Now understand I do not look at the Holy Bible in extreme literal ways nor am I against or hostile to science or philosophy. I also do not align with extreme dogmatism or legalism. But for centuries there have been very basic 101 beliefs that hold objective truth for all time and eternity within Christianity and they have been under attack for the last twenty-plus years.

So the following is why I am not a Progressive (Liberal) Christian. Engraved in my heart with no apologies.

1. Progressives make Jesus out to be just a philosopher who was a peace activist. No, Jesus was not a Buddha figure.
Jesus was the Son of God, the Messiah.
John 1:1, 14 / John 8:58 / John 20:28 / Colossians 2:9

2. Progressives believe Islam and Christianity worship the same God. No, simply no, because Christians believe and worship Jesus as God and the Muslims believe that Jesus was only a prophet and is not worshiped in their faith tradition so the two faiths are not worshiping the same God. Secondly, Christians of orthodoxy believe in the Trinity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as the Godhead to be worshiped. Muslims see this belief as believing in three gods not one god and hence do not worship the Trinity so Muslims will tell you themselves that Islam and Christianity do not worship the same God of Abraham.
John 14:6 / Acts 4:12 / 1 Timothy 2:5

3. Progressives make Christianity out to be nothing more than a "social justice movement" is a far cry from what the Faith is all about. First and foremost it is about Christ atoning for our own sins and reconciling us back in the right relationship with our Heavenly Father for us to live eternally with Him. Secondly how to treat one another and this is where social justice comes in but not before Salvation.
Luke 19:10 / Hebrews 2:3 / Ephesians 3:12

4. Progressives look at the Holy Bible's origins less as a divine text with divine authority and more as a human response to the concept of God. In faith, the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God with divine authority over our lives and the church. The Holy Bible should be the last judge of arbitration. As the Holy Spirit overshadowed Mary for her to conceive Jesus, so the Holy Spirit overshadowed the writers of the Holy Bible as they wrote filled with the Spirit and guided what to write by the mind of the Lord.
2 Timothy 3:16 / 2 Peter 1:20-21 / 1 Thessalonians 2:13

5. Progressives do not believe in the supernatural and hence believe you can scientifically explain away the miracles talked about in the Holy Bible. The Lord is not a liar and if He said a supernatural occurrence happened then it happened. If the Lord cannot supernaturally make things happen then He certainly could not have created the world and hence ceases to be God.
2 Timothy 3:5 / Mark 16:14-20 / Acts 19:11

These five points are the foundation of why I deny the Progressive (Liberal) mindset for they weaken and harm the Christian faith and alter the meaning and mission of the Messiah Jesus and distort the Holy Bible's essence. This is why I choose the traditional orthodox beliefs of the Church Fathers that have been the standard for well over two thousand years in Christendom.

CATHOLIC TENDENCIES

Ever since I was introduced to the Catholic Church I have been fascinated by this body of the Christian faith. One thing that has stuck with me that I admire is the unashamed strength to stand up for what they believe and back it up with The Three Pillars of the Church. Now for those who do not know The Three Pillars, they are number one, Sacred Scripture which comprises the Old Testament and New Testament in a total of seventy-three books. Next is the Apostolic Tradition which is the Living Tradition and the liturgies. Thirdly, The Living Magisterium which is the teaching authority of the Pope in Communion with the Bishops. So what brought this topic up for me is listening to a podcast by Fr. Mike Schmitz denouncing the opening in France of the Olympics when blasphemy was committed by mocking The Last Supper of Jesus Christ. I know some of you are thinking this is already old news. At the time, so many wrote and talked about it that I felt it would be overkill if I wrote about i...

FAKE-FALSE-DECEPTIVE

I have recently been thinking about what it is like to live in a time when you have to rethink or fact-check everything. It is tiring and outright exhausting not being able to trust things at face value. THE BIG PRINT GIVES IT and the little print takes it away!  Satan works this way in our lives: You are of the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44 It is no wonder we have to be constantly alert and on guard. Fake news is a big one but there are knock-off Air Jordan sneakers, Gucci handbags, Rolex watches, and the list goes on and on. Identity theft is another player on the block where a person steals another person's identity and then poses as them but they are just a cheap knock-off! I want the truth. I want authenticity. I do not want to waste my ...

TRAVELING WITH ROMA TO ROME

Throughout my years with Roma, I have dragged her through so many different church doors to either preach or play music for, or simply to explore. She has been a really good sport about it all. But last month she came to me and told me from the heart that before she dies she wants to be Catholic.  Channeling my inner Baptist long-windedness I will share with you a very tender and private story of faith.  Roma grew up going to St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She went to school there and worshipped there too. When she came of age she wanted to be Catholic and her mother would not allow it. She was heartbroken. She eventually went to the Episcopal Church as a compromise. But in our intimate talks recently she shared deep down she wants to be Catholic before she dies. This has been a lifelong buried desire of hers. I love her and so I have been working on seeing if I can make this happen for her through my contacts that I have. I would naturally join with her so she is not...
