There seem to be so many Christians who are doubting their salvation or living on a prayer that they are good enough to be saved. This is very sad to me for the Holy Bible has many a verse of scripture declaring that a believer of faith in Jesus Christ has or should have the assurance of their eternal destiny!
I want to share a handful of verses with you that are a great comfort to me and I hope they will be to you as well.
John 10:28-30 ESV
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”
Wow! Absolutely no one and nothing can take our salvation away for it is in the hands of God and that is a comfort to know. This means that Satan himself cannot take it from us or his demons. This also means that the world and all its lusts, riches, and power cannot take us from the Lord and His salvation for us.
1 Peter 3:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
What a glorious comfort to know God is guarding our salvation and heavenly inheritance because of His great mercy and love for us.
1 Peter 1:3-5
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you, 5 who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Look at verse 4 it says our salvation which is an inheritance is "imperishable" which is great news that it can not spoil and be thrown away. Our salvation cannot fade away into nothing and it will never be ruined with any defilement. Now look in verse 5 it tells us our salvation is being guarded by God's power in Heaven. Oh, what a comfort and great knowledge to know this and have confidence in our Lord who holds our faith in Him in the Heavens.
Now this means "your" name is written in the Lambs Book of Life!
Revelation 21:27
27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.
I will leave you with one last verse but remember there are many more scriptures to assure you of your blessed salvation gift from the Lord.
John 6:37
37 All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out.
Right there Jesus gives us His word that He will never throw our salvation out. Salvation is a gift, our faith in Jesus Christ is a gift from our precious Heavenly Father. Now remember that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ are one. I hope you will develop an assurance of your salvation and go in peace to love and serve the Lord.
This reminds me of the great old hymn called, "Blessed Assurance".
- Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.- Refrain:
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long;
This is my story, this is my song,
Praising my Savior all the day long.
- Refrain:
