COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN

I have come to the conclusion from observation and experience that we have more communication techniques than any other time in history and yet we say nothing of substance or we say nothing at all. We just spout out facts or what we think are facts. The first thing to get lost in the "Information Age" is the truth. This world has lost the art of communication. People no longer know or have the skills to just sit and talk. They are too busy feeding their addiction to the handheld computer they call a smartphone, iPhone, just ask Siri! Just like Gollum in the story Lord of the Rings when he holds the One Ring in his hands he calls it, "My Precious"... I see people do that with their smartphone.  I have seen families in restaurants eating dinner and mom and dad and kids all have their face in a smartphone or iPad. They never have a nice conversation as a family. People are so rude in checkout lines with a phone glued to their ears they do not even acknowledge the cas

YOUR LIFE'S PRIORITIES

Pressures, demands, expectations, and To-Do-Lists push in from all sides and assault our schedules. Do this! Be there! Finish that! Call them! Everyone seems to want something from us. Family – friends – school – work –church – clubs Soon we have little left to give as we run out of energy and time and patience. We find ourselves rushing through life, Attending to the necessary, The immediate and urgent The important is all too often left in the dust. Our values and priorities are reflected in how we use our resources: time, money, strength, and talent. Often our actions contradict our words. We say God is number one in our lives, but then we reduce in importance God to a lesser number on our “to do” lists. Twenty-five centuries ago, a voice was heard, calling men and women to the right priorities. Haggai knew what was important an

FREEDOM FROM BONDAGE

I thought Jesus more than likely thought about things that weigh us, humans, down and keep us enslaved as He was in the wilderness. ·          Emotional bondage ·          Physical bondage ·          False religion bondage ·          Mental bondage ·          Family bondage ·          Cultural bondage ·          Racial bondage ·          Political bondage ·          Sexual bondage ·          Prejudicial bondage ·          Hate bondage ·          Financial or debt bondage ·          Career bondage ·          Satanic bondage ·          False beliefs bondage Galatians 5:1 So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. Christ died to set us free from sin and from a long list of laws and regulations. Christ came to set us free -----not free to do whatever we want because that would lead us back into slavery to our selfish desires. Those who appeal to their freedom so
